Each month, the 4th-grade students are given a reading challenge. The challenge is to make a bingo by reading chapter books of the given genres. These are the students who completed the April challenge.

Good news!!! The phones are back working in the District!
Congratulations to our elementary, middle, and high school Illinois Principal Association student award recipients. We are incredibly proud of your hard work, leadership, and accomplishments. Welcome to Polo Mr. Cruz Robles!

Second grade has been busy learning all about butterflies. Our fuzzy caterpillar friends arrived in the mail in April. We have observed and recorded all the changes they have made since their arrival. Currently, they are chrysalides hanging and waiting to emerge. During this stage, they are kind of “butterfly soup” going through quite a transformation. Within the next few days, they will be fluttering around inside their nets. We are all anxiously waiting for the final stage!

It’s been a busy and fun-filled spring in Mrs. Hillison’s and Ms. Wolfley’s third-grade classrooms! Students kicked things off by learning about the parts of an egg during an embryology unit, which included successfully hatching baby chicks.
They also celebrated Earth Day by researching environmental topics and creating projects, and each student took home a White Pine seedling to plant, thanks to the Ogle County Soil and Water Conservation District.
In math, students wrapped up a unit on area and perimeter by building creative “robot” projects to show what they learned. Most recently, they’ve been diving into drama in reading, bringing stories to life by reading and performing parts from a play.
