Our next new Centennial School family member is PCHS alum Taylor Woodin. Taylor joins us as one of the Centennial secretaries in the front office. She lives in Polo with husband, Nathan,four sons - Maddex, Bryant, Cooper and new baby Asher, and their Great Dane Moose. She enjoys helping coach her boys in T-ball and baseball.
Our next new school family member at Centennial is Kendra Prebula. She joins us as a 1:1 aide for a student. Mrs. Prebula, her husband, and two daughters moved to Polo last spring and her daughters attend Centennial! She enjoys traveling, riding side-by-sides, and anything outdoors.
Centennial is excited to welcome four new staff members to our school family this year. We will highlight a staff member a day.
First up, is Jordann Fishman! The kiddos know her as Ms.Fish and she is the K-5 music and band teacher. She lives in Sterling with her fiancée, 8 year old daughter, and 2 cats. She loves theater and music. In fact, you can frequently see her perform in the Polo Area Community Theater productions!

Safety first! Our students learned about bus etiquette and how to evacuate the bus.
Today students learned the rules and expectations throughout the school. When your student comes home you may ask them about what they learned in Cool Tools. It’s shaping up to being a great year!
Breakfast and lunch start tomorrow! The Grab and Go (GG) and the Main Meal (MM) at Centennial Elementary will have the same sides for breakfast and lunch. The only difference is the entree. The cost will be the same: Breakfast $1.50 and Lunch $2.50. It will be available for K-5 students.
Aplington's new student and 6th grade orientation will be tomorrow, August 16th from 5-6pm. A presentation will begin at 5pm in the gym followed by a tour and locker practice.
At Centennial breakfast and lunch begin on Thurs., Aug. 18. Grab and Go (GG) and Main Meal (MM) are for all students K-5. Breakfast is $1.50 and lunch is $2.50 for GG and MM.

Middle school and high school cross country practice has been moved to 3:30pm. Meet at Centennial by the gym doors.
PCHS Football practice Today 8/8/22 has been moved to 4:00 pm.
Cross country practice starts tomorrow. Meet outside at Centennial by the gym doors at 8:30am. Physicals must be turned in prior to starting tomorrow. Students can turn them in to Coach Hardin upon arrival.

Sue, Shari, and Katie went to Cordova today to pick up free office supplies that were generously donated by 3M to area schools. A big thank you to 3M for helping dozens of school districts every year!
Reminder: Students may not participate in any school sports until they are fully registered. This includes online registration and proof of residency. Current physicals must also be on file at the school before first practice.
