Here are a few of the masterpieces that have been made in Mr. Alston’s Industrial Arts classes. If you are interested in purchasing them, please contact Mr. Alston at talston@poloschools.net. The proceeds will go towards purchasing new equipment.
Due to IDPH guidelines, there will be NO FANS allowed at any home sporting events at this time. This is for both High School and Junior High events. High school Home events will be streamed on NFHS network. There will be info available shortly on how to log on and view the high school Polo Marcos games. There are a few schools in the conference that have large enough gyms but they will only be allowing their home fans to attend. Reminder...this is a fluid situation and subject to change at any time.
Congratulations Mr. Cole on your retirement. Thank you for your years of service! We will miss you!
We would like to congratulate the Centennial Elementary School Spelling Bee champion Reese Mekeel and runner-up Reid Scott. Way to go 5th graders!

Aplington Middle School's spelling bee was a low-key event this year compared to years past because rather than an oral bee, the school utilized an online bee developed by Scripps. Each of the five participants tested individually by listening to words generated by the online program. Individuals were presented with ten words from the published study list and five off-list words, meaning students had had no formal opportunity to study the words. Participants then typed the words into the computerized system. The online test resulted in a tie between eighth graders Gage Zeigler and Bailey Kibodeaux, who then competed in an oral tiebreaker round. Gage emerged as the winner and will represent Aplington at the regional bee in February. Bailey is the runner-up. Kudos to both students for a fine performance!
